Day 1: Transfer from Mwanza airport in time for late afternoon bird walk near the shores of Lake Victoria or a mountain bike ride away from the water. Overnight at Speke Bay Lodge (D)
Day 2: Take a morning boat trip to a nearby village for a truly wonderful look at life on the lake. There is a vibrant daily fish market, and excellent guides to explain about the people of the area. After lunch, take a game drive across the Serengeti, exploring the wildlife rich areas of the western corridor and particularly along the Grumeti River. The game viewing here is always excellent and there is an excellent chance of finding lions, leopards and cheetah as well as a wonderful array of grazers out on the plains. Overnight in the stunning Bush Rover (B,L,D).
Day 3: Once again you will explore the Serengeti to marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds, and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. Dinner and overnight in The Bush Rover.(B,L,D).
Day 4: Take a morning safari back across the Serengeti and then head South, after lunch, to Mwanza, the great Rock City of Tanzania. Overnight at the lakeside Tilapia hotel or similar in Mwanza (B,L).
Day 5: Catch the early morning flight to Dar es Salaam and drive on to the Elephant Island conservancy, bordering the Indian Ocean and Saadani National Park. Relax in the late afternoon in the Roof of Saadani tower, offering magnificent views across the park and ocean, and regularly visited by elephants, buffalo, giraffe and lions. Overnight at Bab’s Camp in the conservancy (B,L,D)
Day 6: Early morning foot safari around the salt flats, following animal spoor in the sand and watching out of elephants, buffalo, lions and stunning bird life. After breakfast, relax and view from the Roof or from your Land Rover suite positioned somewhere on the concession with great viewing in mind. After a late lunch, head out for a game drive in Saadani National Park, with sundowners in the park and a night drive through the concession. Overnight at Bab’s camp (B,L,D).
Day 7: Head out early morning on a game drive to the Wami River, for a wonderful boat safari, and breakfast with the hippos. After lunch back at Bab’s camp, transfer by car or by boat to Simply Saadani Camp, a beautiful beach lodge just North of the Madete green turtle breeding beach. Overnight at Simply Saadani Camp (B,L,D).
Day 8: Wake up by the beach and head out to a nearby sandbank for snorkelling and breakfast a la Robinson Crusoe. Back at the Simply Saadani camp, later in the day, it is possible to take bush walks, canoe rides or listen to a lecture by one of our team at the camps’ wildlife research centre, within the camp’s grounds. Overnight at Simply Saadani (B,L,D).
Day 9: Transfer to airstrip for flight to Dar es Salaam/Zanzibar and onward flights.View All Tours
