Day 1: Fly from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza in the far West of Tanzania, and transfer by road in time for a late afternoon bird walk near the shores of Lake Victoria or a mountain bike ride away from the water. Overnight at Speke Bay Lodge (D).
Day 2: Take a morning boat safari around the bay, enjoying the profusion of birdlife, and look for crocodiles and hippos. Alternatively, take a canoe to the local village for a fascinating look at life on the lake. After lunch, there is the chance to walk the area around the lodge, take a bike tour or simply relax, with the water lapping the beach in front of you, and finally watch the stunning evening sun disappear before you. Overnight at Speke Bay Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 3: After breakfast at the lodge, move into the Serengeti, exploring the wildlife rich areas of the western corridor and particularly along the Grumeti River. The game viewing here is always excellent and there is a great chance of finding lion, leopard and cheetah as well as a wonderful array of grazers out on the plains. Overnight in The Bush Rover, your exclusive private camp in Central-West Serengeti (B,L,D).
Day 4: Once again you will explore the Serengeti to marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds, and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. Overnight in The Bush Rover. (B,L,D)
Days 5 & 6: Today you will drive to historic Oldupai Gorge and the Gol Mountains. Overnight at the intimate Maasai Camp (B,L,D)
Day 7: Drive to Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania. Overnight mid range hotel in Dodoma . Despite being the capital of Tanzania, there is little to see in Dodoma so this is simply a necessary overnight stop (B,L).
Day 8: Today, awake early for your drive to another amazing and very different park - Ruaha National Park. The great Ruaha river feeds this park and you will not be disappointed staying for the next few nights at the Ruaha River Lodge built on the edge of the great river where plenty of animals come down to drink (B, Packed Lunch, D).
Days 9 &10: Today and tomorrow you will be given a choice of safaris in Ruaha National Park. This vast park is one of the best places to see African Hunting Dogs. Overnight at Ruaha River Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 11: Today, pass through interesting countryside en route to Mikumi National Park. Mikumi is a busier park and less remote but still worth a visit as it is home to plenty of wildlife. Overnight at the lovely Vuma Hills set up high with lovely views of Mikumi (B, Packed Lunch, D).
Day 12: Drive through the remote and beautiful South Mikumi to UNESCO World Heritage site, Selous Game Reserve. The size of Switzerland, this remote park is home to a fantastic array of wildlife but still relatively few visitors when compared with Serengeti. Overnight at the wonderfully friendly Sable Mountain Lodge (B,Packed Lunch,D).
Days 13-14: The next few days will be spent on game drives, foot safaris and boat safaris in the stunning Selous Game Reserve. Overnight at Sable Mountain Lodge (B,L,D).
Day 15: After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for flight to Dar es Salaam. Meet your driver guide and drive on to the Elephant Island Conservancy in the unique coastal Saadani National Park. Overnight at Babs’ Camp (B,Packed Lunch,D).
Days 16 -18: The next few days will be a mixture of safaris by car and on foot during the day and at night in the Elephant Island Conservancy and canoe rides in the mangroves, visits to watch green turtles hatching (dependant on time of year) and watching wildlife from your amazing vantage point in The Roof of Saadani, the centre piece for Babs’ Camp. Overnight at Babs’ Camp (B,L,D).
Day 19: After breakfast, drive to Dar es Salaam for your onward journey.View All Tours
