Passport Validity for Tanzania Entry

Tanzania Visa Requirements

All foreign nationals traveling to Tanzania must obtain a visa before entering the country, except for those who are visa-exempt. The type of visa required depends on the purpose of your visit, such as tourism, business, or study. It's essential to apply for the correct visa type.

Citizens of certain countries are exempt from obtaining a visa when traveling to Tanzania for tourism or business purposes. These visa-exempt countries include Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brunei, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Swaziland, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, and Zambia. 

Foreign nationals who are not eligible for a visa exemption can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or any border point in Tanzania. However, the visa on arrival process can be time-consuming, usually around 30 minutes. Visa application fee is 50 USD and can be paid in cash or credit card (not Amex).

COVID-19 Entry Requirements for Tanzania

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Tanzania has introduced specific entry requirements. All travellers must provide a vaccination certificate as evidence that they have received 2 vaccines or, if unvaccinated, a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate obtained within 72 hours before boarding their flight to Tanzania.
