Itinerary
Arrival
into Arusha
DAY 01
Arrive
at Kilimanjaro airport, meet your car and driver and transfer to Katambuga hotel in Arusha.
into the Serengeti
DAY 02
Take a morning flight from Arusha to
Serengeti national park. The next five days will be focused on, arguably, the
greatest wildlife show on earth. It takes place from the multi award-winning
Bush Rover Camp, situated at fantastic locations, where the herds are most
likely to be found. The three seasons within the migration year all bring their
own magic, whether crossing the Grumeti river in the West, the Mara river in
the North or calving in the South. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Follow
the migration
DAY 03
The
primary focus for this breath-taking migration tour is, of course, to follow
the adrenalin fuelled herds and their unwanted predator escorts. Whichever time
of year you are experiencing the tour, you can expect tens of thousands of
wildebeest and zebra to be close at hand. The evenings offer a magical
night sky and drinks by the camp fire before relaxing in the beautiful mess
tent for delicious dining prepared by your private chefs. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Hunt
for big cats
DAY 04
As
the great herds gather in each area, the resident predators are joined by
increasing numbers of opportunists to take advantage of the bounty. Lion and
hyena numbers are prolific at all sites.
Leopards, whilst secretive and solitary are regularly spotted and
cheetah, whilst present at all sites, are a speciality in the South, during the
calving season. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Wildebeest-fest
DAY 05
Each
season offers a different experience. December
to March, whilst in the South, the herds are calving and hundreds of thousands of young are born. July to October the animals congregate in the North, regularly crossing
the Mara river in Tanzania. When the river is high, these crossings become a
spectacular and terrifying undertaking with many animals drowning. In the Western Corridor, in June and early July, lines of wildebeest can be seen heading from South to North, crossing the
Grumeti river on the way.
Hunting
Crocodiles
DAY 06
All
the water courses of the Serengeti contain large numbers of hippos and crocs;
some of the latter are huge and spend most of the year hidden in caves and
crevices by the river side. When the Migration crosses each of the main rivers,
the Mbalangeti, the Grumeti and the Mara (in particular), these giants slide
into the water for a short season of plenty. Many wildebeest are attacked by
crocodiles when they cross but many more are drowned in the stampede and the
crocs simply drag the carcasses to the water’s edge to feed.
under mount meru
DAY 07
This
morning, fly back to Arusha and meet your guide who will transfer you to the Arusha
coffee lodge in the foothills of Mount Meru. Later, enjoy a guided walk
around the plantation to see how the coffee is grown, harvested, dried, and
produced into the aromatic coffee that we drink.
head onwards
DAY 08
Today
marks the end of your safari when you’ll be transferred to the airport for your
onward journey.

Bush Rover Migration Camp Serengeti National Park
The multi award-winning Bush Rover camp is simply one of a kind. It sits at the very heart of the great migration as the vast herds moves around the Serengeti and it affords breath-taking elevated views from possibly the most innovative safari accommodation in Africa.
Make
your Tanzania safari even more special by adding on some days at one of
Tanzania’s incredible beach destinations. Perhaps the most famous is the
beautiful spice island of Zanzibar with world-class beaches and diving.
However, there are some hidden gems off the beaten track with few human prints
left on the deserted white-sand beaches like stunning Saadani national park,
where the bush meets the beach. This is a truly secret palm fringed hideaway.
Zanzibar
Few
destinations have such an evocative name as Zanzibar. Few know that this Indian
Ocean holiday island is in Tanzania and is the perfect complement to any
Tanzania safari where you want to mix safari and beach. The UNESCO world-heritage site of historic
Stone Town is a heady mix of cultures from Arabia and India with stunning
architectural remnants and superb bazaars.
This town has its own annual music and film festivals which attract acts
and visitors from around the world. From
here, head to the north or east coast to relax on world-class beaches and
indulge in some fabulous diving and water sports from The Zanzibari boutique
hotel.
Safari & Beach
Fancy
relaxing at the beach following your Tanzania safari but want something away
from it all? Then choose Saadani National Park, the only coastal wildlife park
in Tanzania where the bush meets the beach. A place where you can swim in the
Indian ocean looking back at vervet monkey and surrounding bush full of
wildlife and even a marine park where green turtles hatch. Head out on game drive or foot and boat
safari in the morning and spend the afternoon on a stunning deserted beach back
at Simply Saadani Camp.
