The Serengeti migration is arguably the greatest wildlife
spectacle on the planet. Its magnificence makes it very popular and to view it
in isolation is increasingly difficult. When the herds reach the far South-East
of the eco-system, at the start of the new year, it is still possible. The Bush
Rover camp sits hidden by a ring of woodland, overlooking a magnificent bowl of

possible to drive out onto the nearby plains and encounter no other vehicle, yet

The Bush Rover
Migration camp is an award-winning camp made up of just six Land Rover suites
that each open up as graceful as a swallow-tail into unique and beautiful safari
accommodation spacious, raised high above the animal-scape below and complete

Arrival into Arusha
DAY 01
Arrive
at Kilimanjaro airport, meet your car and driver and transfer to Katambuga hotel in Arusha. This is a lovely hotel that has a feeling of
being at home. Beautiful accommodation but with a relaxed feel.
Arrival in Serengeti
DAY 02
This
morning after breakfast, you’ll take the morning flight from Arusha to
Serengeti national park for the start of an incredible Tanzania safari. You’ll meet your guide on arrival at the
airstrip in Serengeti who will brief you before your first game drive down to
the Bush Rover Migration Camp.
Follow the
migration
DAY 03
The
primary focus for this breath-taking migration tour is, of course, to follow
the adrenalin fuelled herds and their unwanted predator escorts. Whichever time
of year you are experiencing the tour, you can expect tens of thousands of
wildebeest and zebra to be close at hand. The evenings offer a magical
night sky and drinks by the camp fire before relaxing in the beautiful mess
tent for delicious dining prepared by your private chefs. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
The calvings
DAY 04
As the great herds gather in the South-East of Serengeti towards the end
of the year, the pregnant females gather separately from the males. During
February, over a few short weeks, they give birth to 100,000s of young
wildebeest. The chances of witnessing a live birth at this time are very good
and the interaction between young and adult is fascinating. Many youngsters
lose their mothers and it is not unusual to find calves following the vehicle
or even staff in the camp! O/n Bush Rover Camp.
The predators
DAY 05
The area of Kusini, at this time of year, is naturally a magnet for
predators. The wildebeest and zebra herds inevitably attract lion prides which
tend to hide out in ditches on the open plains, as do many hyenas. The stars of the show however, during the
calving season in Kusini, are the cheetah. This place at this time, offers
probably the best cheetah viewing anywhere in Africa. They use the cover on the
edge of woodland belts to look out over the wildebeest-covered plains and find young calves to target.

DAY 06
Amongst the great drama of the births, the predations and the sheer
dazzling numbers of animals to behold, there is another fascinating world, closer
to the ground. At this time of year, the ground is often alive with dung
beetles, doggedly rolling their dung balls to burial sites. Mongooses scurry
about their business and rare honey badgers are often out at dawn.

DAY 07
This
morning, fly back to Arusha and meet your guide who will transfer you to the Arusha
coffee lodge in the foothills of Mount Meru. Later, enjoy a guided walk
around the plantation to see how the coffee is grown, harvested, dried, and
produced into the aromatic coffee that we drink.

DAY 08
Today
marks the end of your safari when you’ll be transferred to the airport for your
onward journey.
