The Private Migration – Wildlife Photography Safari Tour
Tanzania is arguably the best destination in Africa for wildlife photography. This incredible country is more than the sum of its famous parts, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and some of the world’s top wildlife parks like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Beyond these well-known sites, Tanzania also boasts lesser-known, off-the-beaten-path parks in the south, such as Ruaha, Selous Nyerere, and Saadani National Parks. This private migration safari tour is a wildlife photographer’s dream, offering unmatched opportunities to capture stunning shots of Africa's most iconic animals.
But the adventure doesn't have to end there. A Bush Rover migration camp brings you closer to the wildlife action than ever before, all without sacrificing comfort. Imagine photographing the famous wildebeest migration in complete serenity, away from the crowds, with the flexibility to stop whenever you want to capture that perfect shot. For an even more diverse experience, you can extend your tour to include a relaxing visit to Zanzibar’s breathtaking beaches, where you can photograph traditional fishing dhows silhouetted against the stunning sunrise or sunset. You can even add this safari to a Mount Kilimanjaro climb for a truly unforgettable photography tour. The possibilities for capturing Africa's beauty are endless.

Itinerary
Arrival into Arusha
DAY 01
Arrive
at Kilimanjaro airport, meet your car and driver and transfer to Katambuga hotel in Arusha.
Arrival in Serengeti
DAY 02
Take a morning flight from Arusha to
Serengeti national park. The next five days will be focused on, arguably, the
greatest wildlife show on earth. It takes place from the multi award-winning
Bush Rover Camp, situated at fantastic locations, where the herds are most
likely to be found. The three seasons within the migration year all bring their
own magic, whether crossing the Grumeti river in the West, the Mara river in
the North or calving in the South. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Follow the
migration
DAY 03
The
primary focus for this breath-taking migration tour is, of course, to follow
the adrenalin fuelled herds and their unwanted predator escorts. Whichever time
of year you are experiencing the tour, you can expect tens of thousands of
wildebeest and zebra to be close at hand. The evenings offer a magical
night sky and drinks by the camp fire before relaxing in the beautiful mess
tent for delicious dining prepared by your private chefs. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Hunt for big cats
DAY 04
As
the great herds gather in each area, the resident predators are joined by
increasing numbers of opportunists to take advantage of the bounty. Lion and
hyena numbers are prolific at all sites.
Leopards, whilst secretive and solitary are regularly spotted and
cheetah, whilst present at all sites, are a speciality in the South, during the
calving season. O/n Bush Rover Camp.
Wildebeest-fest
DAY 05
Each
season offers a different experience. December
to March, whilst in the South, the herds are calving and hundreds of thousands of young are born. July to October the animals congregate in the North, regularly crossing
the Mara river in Tanzania. When the river is high, these crossings become a
spectacular and terrifying undertaking with many animals drowning. In the Western Corridor, in June and early July, lines of wildebeest can be seen heading from South to North, crossing the
Grumeti river on the way.
Hunting Crocodiles
DAY 06
All
the water courses of the Serengeti contain large numbers of hippos and crocs;
some of the latter are huge and spend most of the year hidden in caves and
crevices by the river side. When the Migration crosses each of the main rivers,
the Mbalangeti, the Grumeti and the Mara (in particular), these giants slide
into the water for a short season of plenty. Many wildebeest are attacked by
crocodiles when they cross but many more are drowned in the stampede and the
crocs simply drag the carcasses to the water’s edge to feed.
under mount meru
DAY 07
This
morning, fly back to Arusha and meet your guide who will transfer you to the Arusha
coffee lodge in the foothills of Mount Meru. Later, enjoy a guided walk
around the plantation to see how the coffee is grown, harvested, dried, and
produced into the aromatic coffee that we drink.
head onwards
DAY 08
Today
marks the end of your safari when you’ll be transferred to the airport for your
onward journey.
