Africa’s largest wildlife park which also happens to be the best place to see
the elusive African Hunting Dogs, but you’ll also get to explore East Africa’s

Arrival to Tanzania
DAY 01
On
arrival at Zanzibar international airport, you’ll be met and transferred to your
Stone Town hotel. A UNESCO world-heritage site, Stone Town is a short 20 minute
arrive from the airport and from your hotel, depending on your arrival time,
you can explore the atmospheric narrow streets.
Boat safari and game drive
DAY 02
Transfer
back to the airport to join the schedule flight to Saadani National Park.
The short 20-minute hop across the Zanzibar channel takes you to East Africa’s
only coastal wildlife park. Meet your
car and fabulous guide on landing and head straight down to the Wami river
where you’ll enjoy a thrilling boat safari for a few hours before driving to
the beautiful Simply Saadani camp in time for a sundowner and dinner.
Activities at Simply Saadani
DAY 03
After a leisurely breakfast head down to the
research centre and meet the lion researchers who are studying the park’s lion
tribes. Learn too about the green turtle project at the Madete marine park
which forms part of the park. July through
September is the best time for turtle hatching when our guests may be lucky
enough to see turtles hatching and heading out to sea. After lunch,
relax at the beach and maybe enjoy a walk along one of several walking trails
in the late afternoon.
Safari in Saadani national park
DAY 04
Head
out at dawn for an early morning game drive returning to the Babs’ Camp tower
for a lovely brunch. Relax in the crow’s nest of Babs’ Camp and take in views
of park and distant Indian Ocean. Late
in the afternoon, head into the park again for a game drive returning at last
light for a sundowner before dinner.
Head south to Mikumi
DAY 05
After
an early breakfast depart for Mikumi National Park arriving for lunch at your
safari lodge. After a few hours relaxing
head out for a late afternoon game drive in the park before dinner.
Safari in mikumi and transfer to Nyerere
DAY 06
Leave
at dawn for an early game drive in Mikumi returning to camp for breakfast. Pack
your bags and jump into the car for the drive to your next exciting safari
destination; Selous Nyerere national park, a game park the size of Switzerland.
Arrive in time for dinner at Sable Mountain Lodge
Foot safari &
Maasai Village
DAY 07
Awake
for a morning foot safari from the lodge and finish with a lovely bush breakfast
before returning to camp. Maybe relax by
the pool for a few hours before heading down to Saita’s Maasai village with
your guide to learn about the Maasai way of life. This is fascinating tour made more special
but the extra connection with it’s chief Saita whom we’ve known since Sable was
built in 1999.
Game drive &
Boat safari
DAY 08
This
morning head into the park for a full day game drive and boat safari on
fabulous Lake Tagalala where you’ll have your packed lunch amongst the hippos,
a great spot to enjoy wildlife coming down to the waters’ edge to drink. Arrive
back at Sable Mountain for dinner.
Safari through Nyerere and Zanzibar
DAY 09
After
an early breakfast, transfer across the park and out of the gate on the other
side to Sable and continue on to Dar es Salaam to connect with an afternoon
flight to Zanzibar. Transfer up to
Nungwi in the north of the island to The Zanzibari boutique hotel.
Relax at the
Zanzibari
DAY 10-11
The
Zanzibari hotel has been moulded to offer all the creature comforts you could
wish for whilst offering a chance to experience the Zanzibari way of life. The
remaining days are for you to relax, enjoy the peace of the hotel, or book from
the many available excursions such as the exploration of Nungwi and its fishing
community, historical tours of the capital Stone Town, Spice farm tours,
diving, snorkelling, and more.

After
breakfast,transfer to Zanzibar airport for onward journey.
