The Serengeti National Park is probably the most famous and most filmed wildlife destination in the world. The great migration, which moves clockwise around it for 365 days each year, is probably the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a unique habitat where the Maasai people still move freely, with their livestock, amongst giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and much more. The Ngorongoro Crater, at the heat of the conservancy, is a sunken, extinct volcano which teams with animals, many of which are effectively trapped by the steep walls. Both places are amongst Africa’s seven great wonders of the world and here combine with a third legendary destinations, Lake Victoria, which also has a hand in the great wonders mosaic, as the source of the river Nile. Add in the unsung hero that is Tarangire National Park and it is hard to imagine a better opportunity for wildlife watching, anywhere on earth.

01

Meet a member of our team at Mwanza airport and head East, by road, for a little over 2 hours to Little Okavango Camp.

Arrive at the intimate Little Okavango Camp in time for lunch and a late afternoon punt through the maze of channels and breathtaking birdlife. (Lunch, Dinner)

Safari in Serengeti

02

After an early breakfast head out into Western Corridor of Serengeti for a fabulous full day game drive. Large herds of elephants and buffalo move in the area and lion prides can be thirty strong, such is the abundance of prey. Both the Grumeti and Mbalangeti rivers are full of hippos and crocs, some of which are enormous. Overnight Little Okavango Camp. (Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner)

Experience lake Victoria

03

Mwaburugu is a fishing village at the Eastern end of Speke Bay, in the South of the vast Lake Victoria. It is a fascinating place which is home to the largest fish market in the area. As such it attracts fishermen and stall holders from far and wide. Witnessing the arrival of each catch, the bartering for giant Nile perch, or buckets of Dagaa (whitebait) and the general hubbub of these vibrant occasions is an eye-opening delight. Head off to Bush Rover Camp

04

After breakfast, continue your Tanzania safari into the famous Serengeti. Depending on the time of year, you will either enter the park immediately after leaving Little O camp (Heading East or South East) or drive around the fringes of the park for three hours (heading North) before entering. After exploring an area likely to be filled with migrating animals, you’ll reach the award-winning Bush Rover Migration Camp. Overnight Bush Rover Migration Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

The Bush Rover Migration Camp is placed in the expectation that you will sleep near the heart of the greatest safari holiday experience there is. A typical day will involve a longer morning safari, a brunch and relax on your elevated balcony sofa, and finishing with a shorter evening game drive. Drinks and canopies around the fire offer the chance to share stories before a delicious dinner prepared by your private chef. Overnight Bush Rover Migration Camp. (Brunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner)

06

After breakfast, game drive through the Eastern side of Serengeti crossing into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will witness Maasai wandering with their livestock amongst the wild animals. The road eventually reaches the famous crater rim and offers a couple of chances to stop and look into the incredible cauldron of wildlife. Overnight Rhino Lodge. (Breakfast, Packed Lunch, Dinner)

07

After an early breakfast, spend your day on game drive inside the Ngorongoro crater. Word of warning – whilst you can tick off most of the African wildlife quickly you will share this with many other cars so best to get in there at first light. Early morning in the crater can be quite magical and is worth getting up extra early for. By late morning the wind is usually up and the crater floor becomes a dust bowl. Time to leave and head towards Tarangire NP. Overnight Kirurumu Camp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

08

After breakfast, drive into Tarangire NP, a stunning and under-appreciated park. It houses an incredible density of elephants and big cats. The baobab strewn vistas along the flanks of the river are also stunning. Head to Arusha in the afternoon. Overnight in Arusha city. (Breakfast, Packed Lunch)

After breakfast, transfer to either Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport for onward journey. (Breakfast)
